Second life for an old convent

This old building was long ago occupied by the Sisters of The Sacred Heart from the neighboring convent. In poor condition, we have thoroughly renovated it. To tell the truth, there was not much left, apart from the front walls and some parts of the floor. We divided the property into 3 dwellings and a business by adding an extension.

The top floor apartment was enlarged by converting the attic into bedrooms by creating a new floor and a new metal structure replacing the frame. From this triangular metal construction, we can still see the two metal beams, without intermediate support, on which the staircase and the glass slabs come to rest. For budgetary reasons, the kitchen and the bathroom were the subject of an arrangement based on furniture of large distribution or recovery custom in order to dedicate the budget to floor coverings and to the staircase and its walls, custom made.
